Ugh by tj9991 - 2/19/08 @ 9:07AM PST#

If you are planning on downloading this software, uploading it to the server, and then running the install scripts without reading any of the support documents and guides, why don't you just close this window now
If you enjoy posting support questions which are easily answered by reading said documents then please, ignore this message and skip merrily to the support board.

Edit your faq.html file, damnit! by tj9991 - 12/16/07 @ 10:36PM PST#

I'm tired of having people follow the FAQ on installation's sites which comes with kusaba and clicking the links, not realizing they are the default entries. My /c/ board is full of people talking about the problems of other sites. The next release will have a faq.html file consisting of "a FAQ has not yet been written for this site."

So please, make your own FAQ!

1.0.3 Released by tj9991 - 12/6/07 @ 5:46AM PST#

Upgrade/fresh install both available. More languages are now available, and boards with the locale of ja will now show correctly formatted Japanese dates. Pingbacks also will now send recent post numbers and total post numbers (for statistics only).

Kareha -> Kusaba Conversion Available by tj9991 - 9/8/07 @ 10:40PM PDT#

Shortly after the previous release of the Wakaba to kareha conversion script now comes the Kareha version. Completely coded by meltingwax, it operates similar to the W2K script. You may view it by clicking K2K in the menu on the left.

1.0.2 Released by tj9991 - 9/8/07 @ 8:29PM PDT#

Upgrade/fresh install both available. Five newly translated languages are bundled with 1.0.2 because of the continued effort of the kusaba translators.

KusaMove by tj9991 - 9/7/07 @ 6:53AM PDT#

I've just finished a script which will move a thread from one board to another. It will only work properly on text boards, as the files are not moved with the SQL data. It has only been tested a few times, and I am requesting that you give it a shot with a few test threads and place your feedback in /c/. You may access KusaMove by clicking its link on the left.

Running wakaba and want to switch, but keep your posts? by tj9991 - 9/2/07 @ 12:21AM PDT#

I've just finished writing a script and accompanying instructions to generate a SQL query to be inserted into kusaba with a pre-existing board running wakaba. You can view it by clicking the W2K link on the left.

1.0.1 Released by tj9991 - 9/1/07 @ 3:27PM PDT#

Upgrade/fresh install both available.

1.0.0 Released by tj9991 - 8/24/07 @ 10:53AM PDT#

After a lot of planning and help from leaf and Storlek, Trevorchan has been renamed to kusaba as a part of the celebration for version 1.0.0 being released. With 1.0.0 comes fixes for problems which have been neglected for quite some time, especially reports. I would also like to make installing and configuring kusaba much easier within the next few releases, so even more people can enjoy the software. I'd like to thank everyone who has shown support for Trevorchan through the times, which has motivated me to continue to work on it and always make it better. If you have any suggestions to make kusaba even better, I'd love to hear them.

Changed files again. If you were having trouble adding a board in v0.9.2, you should have no problems with v0.9.3

0.9.0 Released by tj9991 - 4/14/07 @ 10:39PM PDT#

Requires a substantial amount of editing the config.php due to the new storage choice, but other than that it is a simple run of upgrade.php

Translating Trevorchan just got a whole lot easier by tj9991 - 4/10/07 @ 10:16PM PDT#

Trevorchan v0.9.0 will use the gettext library (don't worry if you don't have it installed, it will also include a drop-in replacement in the absence of gettext) for internationalization. This means instead of using a clunky array in a php file as the source for the language, it will use .po and .mo files able to be edited through a variety of applications. If you'd like to learn more, check out /lang/

For those of you who held off 0.8 by tj9991 - 4/7/07 @ 5:48PM PDT#

With the help of the people experiencing the problems, 0.8 has been thoroughly improved, and I believe it is now safe to upgrade/install 0.8.

0.8 Released by tj9991 - 2/23/07 @ 2:56PM PST#

I decided that now is a good time to release 0.8, so go get it in /down/

Big change for post storing by tj9991 - 2/21/07 @ 7:13PM PST#

Previously all posts were stored in one table, however due to the continued addition of features, that method was becoming slower and slower. I've switched things up and wrote an upgrade script for putting posts from each board into their own table, and then changed all of Trevorchan to reflect this. (took a while, but luckily I had Dragonforce)

That and the new database abstraction are probably the two major changes in 0.8, along with news editing/deletion and support for embedded YouTube videos.

I hope to get 0.8 out ASAP; I'm shooting for some time this week.

Using Google's Project Hosting by tj9991 - 1/11/07 @ 3:11PM PST#

SVN on my host was giving me some problems, so I've switched from Trac to using Google Code. I've updated the menu with the link.

Say "No" to AdBrite. by tj9991 - 1/7/07 @ 11:36AM PST#

Looks like it is back to AdSense. AdBrite suspended my account without notice. Literally. My account looks like it should still be receiving clicks, however all stats stop at the third of the month.

Just wanted to warn anyone thinking a bout opening an AdBrite account :)

Trac by tj9991 - 1/1/07 @ 8:25AM PST#

I've installed Trac, so anyone can view the latest source, and it will help organize the project a bit.

There is a link in the menu.

0.3 Released! by tj9991 - 11/11/06 @ 5:17AM PST#

After finally fixing the add/delete board bug, I feel like the time has come to release Trevorchan 0.3 to the public. Install it, test it, and give me feedback :)

Head on over to /down/ to get it.

Many, many additions. by tj9991 - 11/6/06 @ 7:41PM PST#

I've added a ton of stuff to Trevorchan, and am currently in the process of testing v0.3 before releasing it. It really is a huge improvement from the last version. Just now I finally got around to writing the news entry script to allow making news posts from the management panel. It's been sitting in the back of my mind the whole time. :)

As always, I would love to hear more suggestions and comments on Trevorchan!

v0.2 released by tj9991 - 9/24/06 @ 12:05AM PDT#

Removed the use of cURL, I was using it because it was easy, and taking the easy way out of a programming problem is bad :d

You can download v0.2 in /down/.

v0.1 is OUT! by tj9991 - 9/21/06 @ 12:27AM PDT#

That's right, I finally got up the courage to make the first public release. If you have any ideas, post them in /c/!

You can download it in /down/.

Code Coming Soon by tj9991 - 9/8/06 @ 2:19AM PDT#

School and friends sure do take a lot of time out of my coding schedule. Can't they understand that I'm trying to make image board software? :)

Soon to come is automated news posting (I do this directly through the database for now.), staff deletion, better formatted posting password box, un-parsed xhtml posting using a different posting password, and a full documentation on everything and how to use it.

I've already started the documentation, but it isn't my priority right now. You can view my progress on it here.

This is the beginning by tj9991 - 8/29/06 @ 10:21PM PDT#

Well, here it is. I've spent the past day and a half coding the board, so far everything basic works. All I need to add now is extra features to make the board unique.

So far, one of the better things about this board is there is only one board file, everything else is generated html files, which makes it a lot easier to maintain multiple boards at the same time.

Hope to be able to release the code soon!
